The federal government has decided to open educational institutions with SOPs in the first week of September. The provincial education ministers have also agreed to open educational institutions in September, but the final announcement will be made in the second week of August or the first week of September. This will be done with the permission of the National Command and Control Center.

According to media reports, a conference of provincial education ministers was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood. The conference considered opening educational institutions in September. In the meeting, the provincial ministers agreed with the proposal of Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood that educational institutions with SOPs would be opened in the first week of September. It was informed that the meeting decided that the current status of Coronavirus is being reviewed on a daily basis.

However, the Coronavirus is now gaining ground in the country. As a result, the government has decided to open educational institutions in the second week of August or the first week of September. In this regard, SOPs will be fully implemented. Sources said that more meetings will be convened, in which a final decision will be taken to open the school with the permission of the NCOC.

Currently, the NCOC has not given permission to open educational institutions. The coronavirus was locked down in view of the situation, which led to the closure of educational institutions from March 13.
