Khatam-e-Nabuwat

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Monday passed a landmark resolution in its session and was recommended to write Khatam-un-Nabiyyin with the name of the Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH). The resolution was presented by MQM member Muhammad Hussain. He said that Allah, has closed the doors of Prophethood, therefore it should be declared that the name of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) should be written whenever and wherever with Khatam-un-Nabiyyin. 

Leader of the Opposition Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that there is no doubt that the chapter of Prophethood has been closed after Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa. He said that a law should be made in Sindh that Khatam-un-Nabiyyin should be written in every book with the name of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Mufti Qasim Fakhri, a member of Tehreek-e-Labeek, supported the resolution and said that wherever the name of the Holy Prophet mentioned, Khatam-un-Nabiyyin should be written and recited. PPP female member Shamim Mumtaz said that the Holy Prophet is the last prophet, Khatam-un-Nabiyyin should be written with his name. He pointed out that in other provinces, the word Khatam-un-Nabiyyin has been omitted from the syllabus of the ninth and tenth classes and condemned it. Later, the House passed the resolution.

During the proceedings of the House, a resolution was presented by the Leader of the Opposition Firdous Shamim Naqvi which was supported by all the parliamentary parties present in the House and at his request, it was transformed into a joint resolution. In which it has been demanded that the government of Pakistan should contact the Saudi government to ask for the reconstruction of the holy shrine of Hazrat Fatima in Janat-ul-Baqi.

Supporting the resolution, Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that the entire House is with us for this and the entire House agrees on it. PPP's Riaz Shah Shirazi and Shabir Bijarani also supported the resolution and said that we are ready to bear all the expenses for this good work. Muhammad Hussain of the MQM also supported it, the resolution was later passed unanimously, the Sindh Assembly is committed to defending the freedom of the press and condemns any attempt to stifle the voice of expression.
